Kaitlann's 1st Birthday

Saturday I had my 1st birthday party. Mama, Daddy and
Mackenzie decorated everything so pretty. I had streamers and
balloons everywhere. And I really like the theme mama picked
out for me!

This is the picture of my pretty centerpiece that I
kept wanting to get and destroy!

Here is the "everyone" cake that nana had made
to match my plates!

Here is "my" cake that I couldn't wait to eat and destroy.
A girl's 1st Birthday Party is all about the cake!

Oh Boy, Here's my cake. Get this silly hat off
my head and let me eat!!!

Now, this is what I am talking about!!
See my hair? I had to have a bath after the party
to get the paste like texture out! Oh, Well it was
well worth it!

Oh yeah, It was really well worth it!

I think I must have gotten tired of the cake.
What little was left went in my lap and of course in the floor!
Thanks to granny Sears for cleaning it up!

I got this really cool piggy bank from Nana and Papa!
(Mackenzie got one too when she was little!)
There may be some fighting going on in our house about
who gets all of the change!!

Wow, I also got some really cool dolls!
Mackenzie tried to claim a few of them!

I really enjoyed the tissue paper best of all!
I am still not really into opening packages.
But as you can see in the background I had
help from my Big Sister!
She helps me out a lot whether I need it or not!
(Note: Notice the mark on my forehead in some of the pictures.
It's a pot lid mark! Yep, right before the party she
accidently hit me with a pot lid!)

This is Sunday morning after my party.
I got a pretty dress like Mackenzie got at her party!

I just want the camera! Who cares about the pictures!
Thanks, to everyone who came to my party and for all the presents!
I got so many wonderful things.
I missed all who couldn't make it to my party!
But we really understand! And besides to a one year old, it's all about
the cake!! We have about decided to have mine and Mackenzie's party
together next year to make it easier on everyone. Since our birthday's
are pretty close together!
I love all of you!

Aunt Kimmy and Me

Aunt Kimmy and I have the best time together.
She is all the time spoiling me!
I don't think anyone ever told her what the word NO
means! If so, she doesn't know how to say NO to me!
I love her so much becuase she does silly stuff with me.
Can you roll your tongue like me and Aunt Kimmy????
I love doing this trick and asking everyone else if they can too!!
Can my mama roll her tongue? Nope!
I think that is very funny!

Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

Mommy is not even sure why she tries to take our pictures
together anymore. We give her a hard time!
We don't ever look and smile at the camera at the same time!

Kaitlann is having issues!
I have been walking everywhere for several weeks now!
I started at Christmas but just really took off!
I am saying lots of words, dada (of course), mama, nana,
Buddy, dog, tinker, juice, bottle, cookie, no no.
Of course you have to interperate a little.
My favorite word is cookie!
Mama help! Kaitlann is belling out!
I am Kaitlann's little mama!
I was told last night that I couldn't spank Kaitlann
or any other kids for that matter until
I was a mommy and had kids of my own.
Do we really have to do this again????

We would much rather play with the grass, pinestraw,
and other cool things that we find in the yard!

I (Mackenzie) took this picture of mommy and Kaitlann!
This was not Valentine's day (it was damp and cold then).
This was taken a few days ealy when Kaitlann and I were
sporting our Valentine's shirts and it was 65+ outside!!

Enjoying the outdoors in GA

Today we went outside to enjoy the 66 degree weather!
It was sunny and beautiful.
To bad it's not this nice all year long!
I am not sure how we are going to handle the 110 degrees this summer!
I got this really cool Jeep for Christmas from Grandmama and Pop.
I enjoy driving it a lot!
Here I am waiting for Kaitlann and mama to catch up!
My jeep goes faster than mama can walk!
She's slow!

I am enjoying getting pushed around by mama.
We are really trying to catch up to Mackenzie!
Okay, no more pictures just get to pushing!
PLEASE!!!

I decided that I wanted to ride in the jeep instead of getting
pushed by mama. The jeep is much faster!!

We are cruising to our Barbie music!
I think Mackenzie is a very good driver!
No crashes today!

Cinderella

I got this dress for my birthday from my nana and papa.
I wanted to wear it today to church because it is blue like
Cinderella's dress.

Look at me, I am a princess.
Cinderella!!

I wanted to sit down and have my picture taken.
But I do love my dress.
I had to wear it to evening church too!
I usually don't dress up at night.
I wore my dress and trampled the boys!
A dress can't keep me from being a buldozer!

Mackenzie's Favorite Cookie Recipe

ICED THUMBPRINT COOKIES

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecans, toasted and finely chopped

1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons whole milk
food coloring

1. Put butter and granulated sugar into the bowl of a electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on medium high speed until pale and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in vanilla. Reduce speed to low, and gradually mix in flour, salt and pecans. Wrap in plastic, and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.

2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Shape dough into 1 1/4 inch balls, and space 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Press thumb in center of each cookie. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven; press centers with the end of a wooden spoon. Bake until golden brown, 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool completely on sheets.

3. Stir together confectioners sugar and milk; add food coloring. Fill centers with icing. Let set overnight.

NOTES

I don't always use a paddle attachment. I don't always toast my pecans. And I use 2% milk. We don't drink whole milk and I wasn't going to buy it for 2 tablespoon full's. And it worked just fine with 2%.

Deut 6:5-9

You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
